Monday's Beginnings (98)

It's Monday!  And I'm back to work.

I had taken last week as a vacation week with loads of hopes and ideas of things to get done.... yeah right.  I don't know what the heck I did, but it wasn't all that I had planned.  We did get some things around the house done and cleaned up but didn't feel like much to me.  Although the holiday, parties, visiting, and graduation parties did seem to take a big part of time.

I do want to thank all my followers who still stopped by to read and comment on my posts here. :) You all are the best!  I'm hoping to get around to all your blogs here this week very soon.  So, was there any big news I missed around the book web?  Please let me know. :)

I did get some reading done of books I wanted to read to finish off the series or such.  So I do have reviews planned for the week too. :)

Currently Reading:
Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa - I'm reading this with a few friends at Goodreads, and finished the first part a while ago.  But I'm ready to get back into this book and see where it goes as it was a wonderful start.
Doubleblind by Ann Aguirre - This is our chat book here starting Thursday.  I do hope you join us.  It's on the first 100 pages.
And I'm going to sneak another book in this week that's a review book.  I'm just not sure which one is next in the stack.  I'll look tonight and get it pulled out.

To Come This Week:
Reviews:
City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane
The Rebel Prince by Celine Kiernan

Last Week:
Books I Finished:
City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane
The Rebel Prince by Celine Kiernan

Reviews Posted Last Week:
Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre
Lodestone: The World of Ice and Stars by Mark Whiteway

Podcast Reviews Last Week:
Sorry, I was hoping to get to listen to some but the week got away from me.

I did write a Flash Fiction Friday last week. :)  It is still a continuation of the story I've got going.  I believe this one is week 5 in posts.  I'm thinking I need to wrap this one up soon, as I think you all might be getting bored with it.  Soooo, we shall see what pictures I have this week and to come to see if I can bring the story to a close.  If you would like to stop by you can HERE.

My WANT list... just remember I was off last week and not doing much in the way of adding books or looking around. Okay?  I added 2 books.  Okay, don't be mad at me.  I'll pick up more this week, I'm sure. ;)

Books Received:
Um.... *crickets*.... Okay, so I didn't make it to the store and nothing came in the mail.  But that's okay, I have soooo many books here I need to read.  And I am still on a book buying hiatus. ;)

I'm hoping to have a great week in pages and to get caught up here as well.  Now that I'm back to the normal routine. :)  And I'm going to try to read at lunch this week, as I'm broke already and don't have the money to go out to lunch.  So hoping to add some pages in there. :)

How are you looking so far this week?  Does it look like a good reading week for you?

Here's to wishing you all the best in words and pages.

  3. I think you did a lot and loved the FF. You need to reward yourself with a trip to the bookstore. ;)

I've been busy with steampunk week. :)

  4. Each week when I come across your Monday posts I get a little shock to discover that it's still only Monday. Perhaps Mondays are just really long but by the time night comes I feel like I've been though a whole week already ;) But thanks for getting me grounded again.
I also have tons of books to read, and I'm starting to feel the pressure. Especially since many of them are library books that I have to somehow read all at the same time. But this is the kind of stress that I really don't mind.

Hope you have a great week!

  5. Isn’t that always the way with time off? A plan sounds so good on paper but even with a week, there’s never enough time and there are too many to-do’s.

  6. Every time I take"time off" get less done than when I am trying to do to many things at one time on my blog, others blogs, my social interaction sites and my house hold chores... However here and there I have won a few ebook shorts and enjoyed them in past few weeks.. In particular though am really loving my Kindle freebie short novellas right now because for some reason my sit down and read full length book time has disappeared this month!

I just finished Vampire for Christmas by Felicity Heaton that I got awhile back last month some time and am in the middle of Demon Fall that was free from author Karalynn Lee, remembered I had it when I read a review from Vanessa The Jeep Diva today...

My Mom bought me the first three Iron Fey books back for my Birthday on June 3rd Melissa, have book 4 ordered and when it comes in will read them back to back with the 2 free novellas on my Kindle that go with the series....

Melissa (Books&Things) - Thanks. I tried to do stuff that week and read too. But well time just seems to work against us. ;) Oh and so glad you are enjoying the FF. I'm having fun writing them. :) Thank you! And I did go to the book store today. Shhhh. Shame on me. ;D And I'm really looking forward to Steampunk week at your blog! I'll definitely be by. :)

Simcha - he he he. So glad you get to stop by on Mondays. At least you get the run down of the prior week and some of what I might be planning to come. :) It's a great day to visit here. :) Hope you have a great week as well!

StephanieD - Oh, it is awful the way time always works out for you. Oh well. There is always tomorrow, right? ;D Thank you !

Jackie B - Hi! Hope you are well. Sounds like you've been busy with the Kindle there. :) ANd I do hope you enjoy the Iron Fey series. But if you find the first one not as good as expected, do keep going with the series. They get better and better. :) Thank you!

  8. I'm glad you had a nice break. And isn't the how breaks work? You never get what you want done. I have been home doing the job hunting thing and haven't gotten nearly as much done around my apartment as I hoped.

I need to finish the Stacia Kane trilogy and start reading the Kiernan books.

  9. Wonderbunny - Oh, there just never seems to be enough time to do it all. We just have to pick choose from the list of to do's. :) Hope you find a job. I know that can be stressful looking. And I think I heard you have things to keep you busy though, a wedding planning maybe? ;) I enjoyed finishing up Stacia's trilogy, and I think she is working on more books here too. And I really did enjoy Kiernan's books. I just fell in love with these characters and world. :) I think you might like them. Hope you have a great week!
